DMAO is a membrane-permeable DNA dye, excellent for staining live bacteria. DMAO preferentially binds to dsDNA with green fluorescence (Ex/Em (DNA bound) = 503/530 nm). Unlike the SYBR dyes, DMAO is extremely stable and can be routinely handled and stored at room temperature without degradation. Supplied at 2 mM in DMSO.
